Southern Miss quarterback Austin Davis passed for 205 yards and two touchdowns in a losing effort, but became the Golden Eagles' career touchdown pass leader with 53, passing Brett Favre and Lee Roberts.
After stumbling to a 1-4 start this season, Brigham Young finished the regular season by winning five of its last seven games.
